- EM Coding Features
- PatientManager uses a sophisticated algorithm based on a
release by the AAO several years ago that quantifies with a
point system the various parameters in determining the true EM
code taking into account history, Exam and Decisionmaking. It
all gets figured out based on your entries during the exam
- PatientManager will compare the "Approved" amount for the
EM level to the corresponding Eye Code for each insurance plan
and select the higher paying code
- If you are being downcoded by a given insurance plan, you
can maximize your reimbursement by altering the algorithm
settings

- Surgery Manager module has a specially designed Surgery Page
for Refractive Surgery in addition to the pages that currently
exists for Cataract Surgery and corneal transplants. The Surgery
Page permits the user to finalize the refractive ablation by
reviewing and selecting the manifest refractions, manual and
topographic Ks to be used in a given patients surgery. An Ablation
Calculator permits the user to estimate the expected residual
cornea following a specified ablation at a specified optical zone.
Additionally, the refractive surgery Preop List displays the
relevant data.
